Everyone grieves with their own way and in their own time. Grief is associated with feelings of sadness, yearning, guilt, regret, and anger, among others. Emotions are often surprising in their strength and it can be hard to get past them. Working with a therapist can allow a person to adjust to the reality of living in the absence of a loved one, developing a new routine, envisioning a new future or adopting a new sense of identity.
